Diag Code Po 505 Idle Air Control Valve 2003 Corolla LE Rate Topic: -----

Check Engine Light Code PO 505 Engine is not idling at correct rpm. Once warmed up only 500 rpm. Problem comes and goes some day's it works fine.
Also sometimes idles at 1500 rpm after a long run and will not idle lower. Restart engine and problem resolved.

Cleaned & checked Throttle Body........Did not resolve problem.
Removed Throttle Body and removed idle air control valve and cleaned ..........did not resolve problem
Checked Mass Air Flow Sensor..........did not resolve problem.
Checked wiring harness and voltage...........did not resolve problem.
Checked PVC and Vacuum hoses...............did not resolve problem.
Checked Crank sensor...........did not resolve problem.
Checked vvi Valve............did not resolve problem.

FINALLY BIT THE BULLET AND PURCHASED NEW IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE $316.00 FOR PART
INSTALLED MYSELF...............PROBLEM RESOLVED ..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleyes:

HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE.........TOYOTA WANTED $579.00 TO FIX............!!!!!!!!!

Was their quote just for the part or did that include labor?

Always good to save money doing it yourself when you can. Quite a bit of money saved there.

Hey, is there a chance you could write up how you replaced it? Those are relatively common replacement parts!
